Biography

Tania is a British Chartered Physiotherapist and Movement Analyst who has spent over 15 years working with the Swiss Olympic Medical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland. She has over 25 years experience working as a clinician with individuals, including elite athletes, who want to ‘transfer pain and dis-ability into passion and performance’.  She is an experienced health educator and performance coach, teaching on the AISTS Masters Course in Sports Management at the EPFL, Lausanne and presents at conferences.

At the age of 11 she went to a ballet school and a few years later, realized that her true passion was to be outside and to move and live in nature.  She is fascinated by how people learn to move in different environments and different contexts. In 1995 she qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist at Kings College, University of London, gaining diverse clinical experience in Africa, Australia and in Europe.  She spent 4 years practicing within Oxford NHS Trust hospitals whilst teaching ‘movement analysis’ courses in Europe that she studied at Masters level at Keele University. Tania went on to work at the Swiss Olympic Medical Centre in Geneva, Switzerland, with a broad range of patients and elite athletes including developing skiers and skiers on the FIS Ski World Cup circuit. Her interest in how people learn to move has led her to follow Gyrotonic and Feldenkrais teacher training courses and she is a BASI qualified ski instructor.

Tania is the founder of MovementWise.org and began making films so that she could use the power of storytelling to show people what is possible, and how they too can become more physically robust, mentally resilient and resistant to disease.
